Enable.NET 3.5 which includes.NET 2. I am not that familiar with Windows 10.

This option is available in Windows 8.1. I had a similar problem after going to Windows 10 with software that came with a Tasco USB microscope.I found an easy workaround using IP Camera Viewer 3 (Free - ). It supports both USB web cam and IP network based cameras. To capture snapshots, I put the viewer in full screen mode and use Wisdom Soft Screen Hunter screen capture software.

Deskshare.com also has a non-free Security Monitor Pro software that can do recording etc.I am not affiliated with either company - was just frustrated that I was looking at throwing away the Tasco Microscope until I happened across this solution.Edited by hamluis, 15 January 2017 - 07:48 AM.Removed duplicate content - Hamluis. I found that the IP camera allows me to do a lot with my microscope, however smartcamera.exe allows me to take photo's with it, and that was what I needed. I just purchased mine from takeitback.com for 11 bucks plus 12 shipping new in the box. The driver disk says it is for Windows 7 down, but most of the software does function, except it cannot take the pictures. I guess a fellow will have to use a combination of software to do everything I want to do with it.

Sad to, the box indicates there is a Windows 10 driver for it, or at least there is a box that the maker can check that says Windows 8 and 10, however the box for Windows 7 and below was checked on mine. Probably why it was going cheap on that auction site. Heck maybe it isn't all that cheap after all, however I have seen them going for 50 to 100 bucks in different sites so i must be a rather open question of the value. I purchased mine because I have a lot of trouble of late with junk boards from China.

For example I just got an Orange Pi from a seller, and it never has worked. Now that I have the scope working, I took photo's of the very poor quality of soldering done on the board. Looks bad indeed, like perhaps some 7 year old kid with a rusty nail and a torch did the soldering. Since the board is all SMD I am sure it was re-flowed but the quality of the solder was very poor. How to use USB Microscope previously OK on PC with Windows XP, 7, 8 but not working on a PC running Windows 10 ( say after update)I too had problems with a USB microscope previously running perfectly on 2 computers I have - one running XP and the other running Windows 7When I updated the Windows 7 computer to Windows 10 with the free update the microscope failed to work ( still OK on the XP computer)I tried the work-arounds mentioned previously on this forum with no success.I found a simple answer on the Microsoft help website - Windows 10 has a dedicated camera app and this worked for me. The app can be accessed on a Windows 10 computer as follows-Connect the USB microscope to the computer as usual. In 'Search Windows' ( just to the right of START icon on the bottom bar ) enter Camera.Usually the first (top) result will be the dedicated camera app (may see it as Camera- Trusted Windows Store App)Click on this and hey presto you should see an image from your microscope and be able to take a photoThis worked for me and saved me throwing the unit in the binI would welcome feedback from others - did this work for you?.

Weird, when I upgraded from 7 - 10 this exact device (eBay bought microscope) wouldn't work. My friend who has the same product even told me his computer pretty much bluescreen:ed and got messed up because of the hardware, so he didn't dare have it plugged in. After that, I have left this gadget in the closet.

Now, I found this thread and got curious, so I plugged it back in. Funny, now the device automatically was accepted and turned up under Device Manager, using the regular 'USB2.0 UVC PC Camera' driver (built-in). I'm pleased.
