I've got no idea how to fix that, except re-installing the entire OS, which isn't ideal at all. A better idea is to try to repair the permissions on the startup drive first. Im having a simular problem when i click on a mp3 link in safariit allways opens with quick time player.i disabled the mp3 extension in mime settings quicktimes prefsthis worked and stopped Qt kicking in but safari has no other player associated so it decided to download the mp3's instead ' i didnt want this to happen'I think whats required in VLC is an associate file types check box or something.
